A pleasure trip aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship transformed into a unique experience for a few travellers this month.

The cruise vessel turned into a rescue and supply ship with an aim to assist the victims of Hurricane Irma that struck Florida after it caused massive damage in the Caribbean.

Several passengers stayed on board the ship even when they were offered a chance to disembark in Florida after a few days.

The cruise travellers made the most of the incident though there were restricted resources on the run. Most of the restaurants would shut down and the casino would also be shut down and the guests had to do their own laundry. Also, there was almost no alcohol for the most of the cruise.

During 16 days at sea that was scheduled to end on Tuesday, the Majesty of the Seas picked up many people stranded in the Caribbean.

The ship had waited the storm out close to Cuba as per a news media agency.

About 24 guests stayed on the cruise vessel for the entire 16 days as per the news media agency. The passengers who stayed did their best to console the hurricane victims arriving on board.
