Globetrotters will be able to fly from Britain to the United States in exchange of mere £56 from summer 2017, with the low-cost airline ‘Norwegian Airways’, headquartered in Oslo. The chief executive of the budget airline has informed that the new pocket-friendly flight service will be introduced to the travellers in 2017.

From summer 2017, the airline will offer a one way flight fare of £56 to the globetrotters to travel from Edinburgh in UK to a secondary airport in New York.

According to the industry experts, the price drop of 50 per cent is going to make the new tickets the cheapest transatlantic air fare available on the market.

The chief executive of Norwegian Airways, Bjorn Kjos has informed that they are investing in a new fuel efficient aircraft, which will be cheaper to run. He has also mentioned that they have a totally different set up to other airlines.

Kjos has stated that the Boeing 737MAX has a very modern engine, which means it can go for a longer distance and they will also be flying to secondary airports in New York (not JFK), which means they don’t need to pay as much and can charge cheaper fares.

The airline has also mentioned very clearly that the new flights will only be available from the airport in Edinburgh and the travellers might have to pay extra charges for meals and check-in luggage.
