The Vienna Airport authorities has announced that the data transmission problem, which has forced dozens of flights to be delayed or cancelled on 28th August, has been resolved and the flight schedule has returned to normal on Monday, 29th August.

On the website of the airport, they have posted an official statement, which says that the Austrian air traffic control has solved the issue and at this moment there are no delayed or cancelled flights. They have also advised air passengers to contact their airline.

According to a spokesperson for Austro Control, on Sunday afternoon, the automated flight planning data transfer between the air traffic control centres in Vienna and Brussels has crumbled entirely. Austro Control is the company that monitors air space in Austria.

The Austro Control spokesperson has also informed that no indication of hacker attack has been discovered by the authorities.

The Vienna Airport authorities has informed on Sunday afternoon that they have delayed or cancelled almost 113 flights to and from Vienna, which has stranded hundreds of air passengers. Airlines like British Airways, Lufthansa, Finnair, Turkish Airlines and Polish airline LOT have been affected by the technical glitch of Sunday.
