airBaltic improves service to Poprad

RIGA - The Latvian airline airBaltic will improve connections between Riga and Poprad, Slovakia, by doubling flight frequency. Also airBaltic will launch a new direct route from Warsaw, Poland, linking the city with Poprad, Slovakia. This will offer convenient connections between the cities and beyond to destinations in the Baltic region, Scandinavia, Russia and the CIS countries.

Martin Sedlacky, Board Member of airBaltic: “For me as a Slovak national working for airBaltic, it is a very good feeling to see that the leaders of Slovakia and Latvia understand the importance of connecting the regions. airBaltic will again bring more tourists to Poprad-Tatra in the upcoming season and also offer convenient travel to Baltics, Nordics and Russia with two weekly flights. Travelers will also be able to enjoy convenient connections to worldwide destinations from Poprad via Warsaw."

As previously informed, on the 13th of December, 2014 airBaltic launched a new direct route linking Riga and Poprad, Slovakia. Starting December 15, 2015, airBaltic will double the flight frequency from Riga to Poprad and will launch a new direct route linking Warsaw with Poprad. This will offer convenient connections between the two cities and beyond to destinations in the Baltic region, Scandinavia, Russia and the CIS countries.

airBaltic passengers will board a Boeing 737-300 aircraft for a flight that from Riga to Poprad will last 1 hour 40 minutes, but from Warsaw to Poprad – 1 hour and 5 minutes. The price of a one-way ticket for both destinations starts at EUR 29, including free ski equipment, airport fees and transaction costs.

airBaltic will also launch a new route between Riga and Radom, Poland, on 1 September 2015. The new route of airBaltic will offer convenient travel between the two airports, and beyond to destinations in the Baltics, Scandinavia, Russia, and the CIS.

Christophe Viatte, Chief Commercial Officer: “Radom will become our second destination in Poland. The route will complement our existing services from Warsaw to Riga, offering convenient connections to the Latvian capital and onwards.”

airBaltic will fly from Riga to Radom three times a week and passengers will board a Bombardier Q400 NextGen for a flight that will last 1 hour 40 minutes.
