World Travel Awards arrives in Athens ahead of Europe Gala Ceremony 2014

World Travel Awards has arrived at Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso in Athens, Greece, to complete final preparations ahead of the Europe Gala Ceremony 2014.

The event will take place on August 2nd, with hundreds of hospitality industry leaders expected to attend in order to discover who has won the coveted prizes.

The ceremony will be hosted by Greek celebrity presenters Thodoris Koutsogiannopoulos and Mary Sinatsaki, with a stellar entertainment line-up also set to perform. Highlights include an exclusive headline show from the Greek pop-rock sensation Onirama and a performance from the Dora Stratou Greek Dancers.

Speaking ahead of the Gala Ceremony, World Travel Awards President Graham Cooke said: “Greece has shown remarkable resilience over the past five years, recovering swiftly from the economy turmoil which swept the country to reclaim its rightful place at the forefront of European tourism."

“World Travel Awards is proud to be here at Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso to show our support for the hospitality sector and to recognise those organisations which have seized the opportunity in recent years to emerge stronger than ever.”

World Travel Awards celebrates its 21st anniversary this year, with the Europe Gala Ceremony the second stop on the annual Grand Tour.

The tour, which visited Dubai earlier this year, will also include stops in Abuja (Nigeria), Quito (Ecuador), New Delhi (India), and the beautiful Caribbean island of Anguilla, before arriving in Marrakech, Morocco, for the Grand Final in November.
