Mexico City Hosts 5th Annual Feria de Las Culturas Amigas

More than 80 countries came together for Mexico City’s fifth consecutive Feria de las Culturas Amigas, or Friendly Cultures Festival, from May 25th to June 9th.
Spread over a mile stretch on the Capitals’ main Paseo la Reforma Avenue, Feria de las Culturas Amigas provided an opportunity for thousands of locals and visitors to experience and learn about numerous cultures all in one place. In addition to trying traditional drinks and food, fair-goers could also purchase typical products and keepsakes from these countries.

Mexico City embraces the international community, and we are excited to express our testament to that through this global fair,” said the Mayor of Mexico City, Dr. Miguel Angel Mancera. With more than half a million people visiting the fair over the course of two weeks, Ferias de las Culturas Amigas is one of the most highly attended events on Paseo de la Reforma, which hosts numerous activities throughout the year.

Among the countries that participated included India, Egypt, Indonesia, South Africa, South Korea, Japan, Lebanon, China, Argentina, Uruguay and Bolivia, among others. This year, more than 10 new countries participated in the cultural event, showcasing their unique touristic offerings. In addition to beautifully decorated tents, the various countries entertained attendees with dance performances and exhibits. Bolivia and Ireland representatives performed folkloric dances, while China had characters dressed as lions and dragons parading through the street.

With thousands of events taking place throughout the entire year, visitors can always find a unique experience to attend during a visit to Mexico City.
