Popular Fiji Cruises Change Names

Captain Cook Cruises Fiji has today announced that the company has changed the name of its two popular seven nights Northern Discovery Cruises on-board the small ship, MV Reef Endeavour. 
The Discovery Cultural Cruise will now be called the Four Cultures Discovery cruise and the Discovery Heritage Cruise is now named the Colonial Fiji Discovery Cruise.

We decided to change the names of these cruises so they better reflect the actual experience offered on each cruise. For example passengers discover and experience four different cultures on the Discovery Cultural Cruise, so to rename the cruise The Four Cultures Discovery cruise just made perfect sense”. The Four Cultures Discovery cruise circumnavigates Fiji’s second largest island Vanua Levu and gives passengers the ultimate chance to experience the cultures of the Ellice Islanders (Polynesians), Banabans (Micronesia), Fijian and Indians.

Passengers are taken on a historical cultural journey of song and dance on both Kioa Island the home of the Polynesian’s (Ellice Islanders) and Rabi Island the home of the Banabans people. A colourful morning is spent discovering Fijian Indians at Labasa Town and the true Fijian culture is enjoyed at Druadrua Island with a school visit and show.

The warm blue waters of the South Pacific haven’t been forgotten with unforgettable snorkelling, diving, glass bottom boating and swimming available on the itinerary everyday at idyllic locations such as the picturesque island of Manava Cay to the world’s third longest barrier reef, Kia Island.

The Four Cultures Discovery Cruise departs on 02 July, 03 September and 05 November 2013 and 2014 scheduled departures include 07 January and 04 March. 

The seven nights Colonial Fiji Discovery Cruise reveals the unique history, art and culture of the Northern Fiji Islands and allows passengers the ultimate experience of standing’ on the International Dateline.

Day trips include the historic island of Ovalau which still features 19th Century colonial architecture and waterfront promenades from colonial rule, the Bouma Waterfall lagoon on Taveuni Island, the extinct volcanic crater, hot springs and thriving markets on Savusavu, a special children’s choral church service at Waiyevo and of course the 180th Meridian – the arbitrary Dateline between today and tomorrow on Taveuni Island.

There is plenty of swimming, snorkelling and diving off picturesque islands including Tivua, Nanuyakoto, Savusavu Bay, Nananu-I-ra and Sali Sali Island.

Remaining 2013 departure dates for The Colonial Fiji Discovery Cruise include 04 June, 06 August, 01 October and 03 December. Scheduled 2014 departs include 04 February.
