Sani Resort celebrates the future of Greek cuisine at the Annual Sani Gourmet Festival


The internationally acclaimed Sani Gourmet Festival has been announced for the 10th – 19th May 2013. This year the Gourmet Festival, held at the luxurious Sani Resort in Greece, will be focusing on the evolution and development of traditional Greek dishes over the years, and how they have been passed on and evolved through the generations. This food lover’s event will feature local Greek chefs as well as Michelin starred chefs from around the world, who will be battling it out to create the most innovative interpretations of key Greek staples, offering exciting new recipes for the future of Greek gastronomy. For foodies and fans of Greek cuisine, a visit to Sani Resort for the Sani Gourmet Festival is an absolute must.

Over the years, Sani Resort has welcomed sixty-six chefs from twenty-seven countries with thirty-eight Michelin stars between them. 2013 will be bigger and better  than ever as the Sani Gourmet Festival has now established itself as the meeting point for professional chefs and foodies alike, coming together to celebrate a passion for good food using the freshest and most local ingredients. Set on the Halkidiki peninsula, off mainland Greece, the high quality ingredients will be lovingly gathered from the surrounding area….olives, vegetables, nuts and grapes as well as delicious honey – in fact, Halkidiki is one of the biggest beekeeping centres in Greece.

Ten incredible chefs have been confirmed for Sani Gourmet Festival 2013, who will entertain and delight festival goers with their mouth-watering menus and culinary wizardry as they present their own versions of traditional Greek cuisine. Amongst them will be:
  • Hector Botrini, the quadrilingual restaurateur whose restaurant ‘Etrusco’ has recently been awarded “the best restaurant in Greece”

  • Nena Ismyrnuglou, one of the world’s most celebrated female Greek chefs
  • Nikos Karathanos, chef at the Michelin star restaurant Hytra in Athens.
