Carnival Triumph Preliminary Investigation

Guests from the Carnival Triumph have been enjoying the newly appreciated comforts of home for the last few days.  The ship gained national notoriety last week after an engine fire disabled the liner and it was towed into Mobile, Alabama, arriving late Thursday night.
Hear passenger response from Carnival Triumph.
Immediately after the fire and subsequent towing, the questions began – what caused the fire? The investigation is being led by the Bahamas Maritime Authority, with collaboration from the U.S. Coast Guard and the National Transportation Safety Board.
Some of those questions are getting answers. Carnival announced the preliminary investigation of the fire indicated the cause was the result of a leak in the fuel return line for the number 6 diesel generator.
Though the preliminary cause has been released, investigators are saying it could take up to a year to have the final results of the investigation.
