The Royal Treatment at Les Bains de Léa

Inspired by Ancient Roman baths with spectacular rooftop views over the historic city of Bordeaux, the Les Bains de Léa spa at the Grand Hotel de Bordeaux has recently appointed a new Spa Manager- fellow Bordelais, David Lestelle.
Formerly the masseur to the Monaco Royal Family, Lestelle has over 17 years’ experience managing some of France’s most luxurious spas on the French Riviera including Majestic à Cannes, Cap Eden Roc, Chateau Saint-Martin & Spa and Les Thermes-Marins de Monaco in Monte Carlo.
Originally hailing from Bordeaux, David has returned to be closer to his family as well as join Grand Hotel de Bordeaux in this exciting new position at Les Bain de Léa spa.
David says: “I am thrilled to be back in my beautiful hometown of Bordeaux. The city oozes so much charm and delivers so many aspects for which France is synonymous for – including luxury hospitality. I look forward to working with such a prominent name within Bordeaux and within the grandeur of Les Bains de Léa spa.”
As well as his expertise within the spa sector, David will introduce a new, deep-tissue massage to the hotel’s spa – a signature treatment he developed during his time on France’s southern coast.
The treatment is available for 60 or 90 minutes and aims to leave one feeling tranquil and relaxed. It uses traditional and Swedish, muscular, massage techniques combined with a slow rhythm and intense pressure, focusing on tense or tender areas to deliver a state of relaxation both physically and spiritually. As such, the massage is best suited to those who are stressed or invest in a lot of sport. The use of an Arnica-based repair balm makes this treatment the perfect remedy to any injuries, aches and pains.
The new massage will be an addition to the current spa menu offering face and body treatments, exotic massages, special treatments for men, and oriental wellbeing including detoxifying Hammam dating back to the days of Cleopatra.
Les Bains de Léa’ is an extraordinary pampering oasis at the rejuvenated gem of 17th century architecture in the heart of the world’s wine capital. The magical retreat is operated by world renowned wellness and cosmetology brand Spa NUXE – located amid a majestic trio of legendary Bordeaux addresses – Place de la Comédie, Grand Theatre and Grand Hotel – restored to their former glory by world famous French interior designer Jacques Garcia.
Les Bains de Léa is named after and inspired by the legend of a beautiful young woman named Léa who sold body lotions and amphoras in Bordeaux in Gallo-Roman times – and who was famed for being seen bathing voluptuously at twilight.
Les Bains de Léa Spa at Grand Hotel de Bordeaux and Spa is open every day from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.www.lesbainsdelea.com
