Single
European Sky ATM Research Joint Undertaking (SESAR JU) and the Civil
Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) signed a Memorandum of
Cooperation yesterday, Tuesday 20 November, at the Office of the
Permanent Mission of Singapore to the ICAO in Montreal, Canada, in
presence of the President of the ICAO Council, Dr Roberto Kobeh
Gonzalez, the President of the Air Navigation Commission, Mr
Christian Schleifer and the Director of the ICAO Air Navigation
Bureau, Mrs Nancy Graham.
The
MoC follows the Letter of Intent signed on 13 February 2012 following
a Joint Technical Workshop on “Future ATM” held on 6 October
2011. Both parties will now further benefit from advances in ATM
systems innovation and development potential through mutual access to
the pool of partners each have. Together, SESAR JU and CAAS will
continue to identify areas of common interest to improve the overall
efficiency of Air Traffic Management.
“The
new frontier in terms of Air Traffic growth is in Asia and Singapore
is particularly advanced in shaping the future of ATM. We at SESAR JU
are particularly pleased to cooperate with CAAS and help build the
future of ATM”.
