The
52nd Congress of International Congress and Convention Association
(ICCA) will be held in Shanghai on November 2-6, 2013.
This
annual congress is to be jointly organized by ICCA and Shanghai
Municipal Tourism Administration in coordination with ICCA Chinese
members.
Hosting ICCA
Congress 2013 will play an important role in promoting Shanghai to
the international meetings and tourism market,
attracting more international meetings to Shanghai, and giving a
strong boost to the growth of Shanghai’s meetings and industry,
especially in maintaining and enhancing the appeal of Shanghai to the
international meetings and tourism market after the World
Expo 2010. At the same time, the Congress will also help make
Shanghai and China as a whole better known in the international
meetings and tourism industry, develop the modern service industry in
Shanghai, and move Shanghai forward towards the strategic goal of
becoming a leading international meetings destination in the
Asia-Pacific region and a well-known international tourist
destination. It will give industry professionals and experts of both
China and the world an opportunity to have practical exchanges and
give China an opportunity to showcase its meetings and tourism
industry.
For
the preparations for ICCA Congress 2013 in Shanghai to get along
smoothly, the Local Organizing Committee was officially created at
the second annual meeting of ICCA China Committee held at the Beijing
National Convention Center on September 11. The member organizations
are fully confident in
the success of ICCA Congress 2013, and indicate their willingness to
work together and get involved in the Congress in a variety of ways.
Now, the logo of ICCA Congress 2013, designed by ICCA China
Committee, has been accepted by ICCA Headquarters and officially
released.
